The Foundation of Our Movement

Four pillars that define the essence, theological freedom, and heart of Unity teachings.

Unity Is Inclusive

Unity welcomes people from all backgrounds, beliefs, and life experiences. While Unity has its roots in Christianity, its teachings also draw wisdom from many spiritual traditions and metaphysical perspectives.

There is no requirement to use a particular name or expression for the Divine. You may call it God, Spirit, the Universe, Divine Love, or another name that feels meaningful to you. What matters is the understanding that there is a loving and benevolent presence at the heart of life.

Unity Is About Personal Spiritual Growth

Unity recognizes that every person is on a unique spiritual journey. There is no single path that looks the same for everyone.

We encourage individuals to explore spiritual ideas, ask questions, develop their own understanding, and discover practices that support their growth.

Unity Is Practical

Unity teachings are intended to be lived—not simply studied or discussed. Through prayer, meditation, positive thinking, forgiveness, compassion, and conscious action, Unity encourages us to apply spiritual principles to our relationships, challenges, choices, and everyday experiences.

The goal is to help each person discover greater meaning, purpose, peace, and connection in life.

Unity Is Community

Unity is also about connection. We come together to learn, share, celebrate, support one another, and grow together.

At Unity of Kalamazoo, we strive to create a welcoming community where people can be themselves, explore their spirituality freely, and connect with others in an atmosphere of love and acceptance.
