Thanks
to recent legislation by Congress, provisions of the Pension Protection Act have
been extended, allowing those 70 1/2 years and older to donate up to
$100,000 from their traditional and Roth IRA's to charities such as Unity of
Kalamazoo, TAX FREE! The extension is retroactive and applies to
distributions made throughout both the 2008 and 2009 tax years. The funds need
to be transferred directly from the donor's account straight to the nonprofit
